Offered to ALL students entering K3-3rd grade
Our Cougar Camp program is designed for campers to use the different avenues of the arts and sports as channels to build life experiences. Through music, sports, movement, and visual arts, the children will learn life skills and develop social and emotional skills that will allow them to incorporate creativity, emotion, innovation, and integrity into their daily lives.
Children will be exposed to fun activities that help to develop their coordination and motor skills, while continuing to work on their athletic abilities. Children will develop their rhythm and musicality through creative movement. They will express their ideas and emotions in a fun and imaginative way.
Music ignites all areas of child development: intellectual, social and emotional, motor, language, and overall literacy. It helps the body and the mind work together. It’s all about creativity. Children will use their imaginations while creating artwork with a wide variety of materials. They will explore artistic techniques and world cultures through arts and crafts in a way that will be just plain fun!
Children will continue to receive daily math and reading instruction in a fun and creative way, in order to continue to develop their skills in these areas and further prepare them for the school year ahead. Our summer counselors and lead teachers are a unique mix of alumni and CEA faculty.
