Ophelia Hernandez

From 1985 to 1996 I was blessed and honored to be employed and work for Conchita Espinosa Academy. During this time I worked for the most incredible women and men I have ever known. Conchita Espinosa, Alicia Espinosa, Maribel Diaz, Rosita Segovia, Gloria Gaither, Ronn Daniels, Laura Luna & Eldemira Menéndez… and others not mentioned here (and you know who you are). Each one taught me the meaning of how love and the Arts were so important in making a perfect balance in teaching and learning in school. I am a better person today because of what I learned in those 11 years. Thank you Ms. D for those countless long hours sitting in your office listening to you how you wanted to make this world a better place for the children. I think you have succeeded with the thousands of children (now married adults with children of their own) that have walked those same corridors and are now very impressive, successful, adults! Thank you is not enough for your mother, Conchita Espinosa, and her dream. Thank you is not enough for Conchita’s sister, Alicia Espinosa, for her love, devotion, and dedication all those years supporting her sister. Thank you is not enough for you Ms. D for keeping you mother’s dream alive and for all that you taught and did for me and my sons, Steve Hernandez, Javier Hernandez, and Danny. For all those who have been able to send your children and grandchildren to CEA, consider yourself very blessed because there is no other school like this in this country of ours. Conchita Espinosa Academy is unique in many ways and a safe haven for all children who attend… My satisfaction, to this day is seeing all of my CEA munchkins on FB… You all make me so happy and proud of what you have become…I love each and every one of you! My wish is that other schools can take lessons from you and that it is okay to show the students “love” as they learn the Academics along with the Arts. What a better world this would be…
