Gerard Ebitz Master Class

Gerard Ebitz, world-renown dancer, choreographer, master teacher and currently a ballet instructor for New World School of the Arts high school and college divisions, conducted a Master Class for our older ballet students. Students of different levels, faculty and parents were invited to observe and learn from the class also.

The Master Class was followed by an excerpt from a Senior Concert piece, “From the North,” danced by a group of New World School of the Arts college dance students. The piece showcased two aliens who had come to earth terrorizing all around them until they came to a dance class where they were civilized and allowed to express their own creative movements. When asked about the meaning of the dance to him, Mr. Ebitz replied, “The arts are when we share our similarities and express our differences.” What a beautiful thought!

The session closed with a question and answer period. All of our students left with new knowledge and inspired by the world of dance.
