Photography

Photography classes are offered for 6th Grade to adults (5th Grade students need a letter of recommendation from their teacher and each application will be reviewed individually).

Classes cover the basics, while students learn about the parts of the camera and their roles in capturing images. As students advance, classes move up to more complex topics like lighting and composition. Classes are based around digital photography, but the photographic techniques apply  to film capture as well.

The textbook for this course is
Tom Ang’s Fundamentals of Photography
(ISBN: 978-0-375-71157-2).

The prerequisites for the class are:

1. Students must know how to use a PC and web browser

2. Students need to create a free Flicker account (www.flicker.com)

3. Students need to bring their own camera to class

4. Students will be required to submit photos for critiquing and evaluation.
