Conchita Espinosa Conservatory of the Arts is committed to developing and training young artists.

Our courses are designed to meet the needs and interests of students dedicated to furthering their natural artistic talents.

Students are expected to commit to the discipline and put forth the necessary effort to grow.

The Conservatory offers group classes in Dance, Theater, Martial Arts and Visual Arts, along with private  and group Music classes.

Enrollment is open to the community and not limited to students from the Academy. Classes are also available for professionals and adults.

Our conservatory faculty is handpicked for their excellent teaching skills and their superb reputation in their respective areas of expertise.

Equally important for us is that our faculty is able to impart respect and love for the arts to develop well-rounded artists.

Our founder, Conchita Espinosa, dedicated her life to guiding our youth.  This formidable pedagogue founded her Conservatory in Havana, Cuba, in 1933. By 1959, it had grown into an arts conservatory and elementary school with over 450 students.

Today, the Conchita Espinosa Conservatory of the Arts, along with the Academy (now a K4 through 8th Grade), continue to keep Conchita’s legacy alive and thriving, since opening its doors in Miami over 45 years ago.

NEW STUDIOS!

The 2010-2011 School Year is going to start with new exciting additions. With the new building comes a new state-of-the-art, high ceiling dance studio with a suspended floor. And in the main school building, another studio has become available as well, giving our Conservatory dance students much needed space for new classes. Below are pictures of the new studio, now in the final stages of construction.

NEW CLASSES!

Afro-Fusion Dance

Please welcome Mr. Augusto Soledade, our new Afro Fusion Dance teacher. He, along with guest teachers from the Brazz Dance Theater, will be teaching Afro-Fusion Dance, once a week. It combines strong Afro components and a fine contemporary style. Students in this class will be fortunate to learn from Mr. Soledade, who is described by his colleagues as “highly professional; having a refined technique and mature artistic sensibility.” He strives to help studenst gain “an appreciation of dance as a form of art, while offering a stimulating learning environment.”

Strength and Stretch for Dancers

Ms. Patricia Strauss will be teaching this special class, once a week, for anyone (Forest and up) who wants to exercise and gain muscle strength. It is open to different levels because this is not a technical class, but one to improve physical strength. Special balls and Thera-Bands are required. They will be available for purchase at the school. You must also bring your own yoga mat.

Dance/Movement for Actors

This class is designed to give actors a basic knowledge of dance steps and to develop confidence and body awareness to enhance their performance and broaden opportunities.
